Let's Ride: Where do we go from here?

My life has been flipped upside down in the last year. I was your ordinary cyclist commuting to work, doing recreational rides on the weekend while trying to jam everything else in between. My Corporate Business Life M-F 9-5 (which was more like S-S 8-10) was sucking the life out of me while trying to balance loving my wife, kids and basically running Chief Cyclery (before it was named Chief Cyclery). It was basically Chaos. And my perfectionist personality was causing me to fail (internally not externally) in a lot of areas. As much as the social media world would like to tout their perfect existence with dream vacations, perfect 2.5 kid family, and Above Average Corporate Job...I call BS

...So, I jumped out of a financially comfortable position to challenge myself, my faith, and my priorities thinking I would take a break, recharge and get back into Corporate Business Life later in 2015. Shortly after Chief Cyclery was born. Since then there has been the high of highs and the low of lows, but it slowly grew...and grew. I decided to put interviewing back into Corporate life on hold to see where this ride would take me.

Chief Cyclery was created from lots of different evolution's in my life which I will touch in a later post, but I knew that I wanted it to be more than just a place to placate your need for used cycling goods. I wanted it to be a place of community that I feel is lacking in cycling culture or at least to add another safe place. A place you won't be judged for your lack of "street cred" or knowledge but a place where people can gather and be inspired to live life to the fullest.

I know the cycling culture and community is changing as the global economy changes and moves forward. I believe in sustainability and self empowerment and being forward thinking. Of course this is all grounded on a foundation of faith, financial stability, honesty, integrity and a customer first approach. Whether Chief Cyclery can provide you with what you need to get you on the road or not, we want to be a place for you to come and build a community with us.

Let's see where this takes us, Let's see where this goes, Let's Ride!

I want to end with a special thanks to my wife emily, my kids aubrey, nahara & wolfgang and to a few key friends that have pushed me here Jeff Ambrose, Zac Coolman and Mike Shapiro.
